1. Discover  Uluwatu Temple

One of the main landmarks in the Jimbaran Bay area is Uluwatu Temple. It lies just outside Jimbaran and it is one of the most visited sites in Bali.

The temple is built at the edge of a 70-meter-high cliff or rock projecting into the sea and is dedicated to a Hindu God.

Visitors should be wary of monkeys who have inhabited the temple and are notorious by monkeys for snatching visitors’ belongings, such as flip-flops, cameras, and sunglasses.

2.  Enjoy kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple

Kecak dance performance based on the Ramayana is performed daily in Uluwatu temple every day at 6 pm on the cliff-side. It is a form of Balinese Hindu dance and music drama that was developed in the 1930s in Bali, Indonesia.

The dance which is performed outdoors also gives the audience a beautiful view of the sunset in the background.

It is located at the northern end of the bay right by the beach at the junction with Jalan Tukad Ayung. The best time to visit is between 6 AM-9 AM, and you can get your purchases grilled at a grilling area in the market for a fee.

Eating seafood on the beach in Jimbaran is an important part of many tourists’ itinerary when coming to Bali.

Jimbaran Bay is home to about fifty grilled seafood restaurants in three different groupings, all set along the beach. The restaurants serve essentially the same menu with one basic dining format.

Tables are set up right on the sand and if you sit at the lowest tables at high tide, you can even get your feet wet. The sea breeze is cool, the sunsets are beautiful, and the whole area is lit by oil torches after dark.

7. Enjoy Water Activities at Jimbaran Bay

There are a couple of good surf breaks off the airport which are easiest accessed from Jimbaran Bay. It is too far to paddle out, but boats are easily chartered from the beach in the middle areas of the bay or close to the fish market.

Jimbaran is a typical little Balinese society with lots of small streets and alleys that makes a perfect place for an evening stroll. Walking around Jimbaran is itself an adventure. The locals are hospital and welcoming and the place is free of criminal gangs.

The road along the beach and Jalan Uluwatu make good orientation points. The main street, back streets, and small alleys interconnect each other, making it easy to navigate.

The Jimbaran market, also known as ‘Pasar Desa Adat Jimbaran’, is the main source of fresh groceries and daily necessities among the local residents.

This morning market is centrally located on the Jalan Uluwatu main road, before the sunset and seafood beachfront area of Jimbaran Bay. Busiest at sunrise, with locals and sellers doing their hard bargaining, it’s a great stopover for cheap tropical fruits and other fresh items.
