With Madrid being the capital of Spain, it’s expected that there would be a musical melting pot of local and foreign artists. In fact, the Spanish city happens to host lots of techno talent all year round.

Everyone knows that excellent nightlife can be found in cities like Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris. Madrid is a less obvious destination for techno lovers, similar to cities like Lisbon and Warsaw.

Of course, all you need for a night of techno is a good speaker, so one can always enjoy techno party at home or in a hotel room.  But cities like Madrid offer locals and foreigners alike an unforgettable experience with the underground environment, advanced sound systems, and unsuspecting friendships waiting to be made.

There is no doubt that the electronic scene is expanding in Madrid. Fabrik

Fabrik is a Madrid classic. Although it’s not located in the city center, the club hosts  big names in techno consistently throughout the year. Situated in the northeast corner of the map, Fabrik is a huge techno wonderland.

With a 4,000 person capacity, it hosts some of Spain’s largest techno, house, and trance events. The club itself features large-scale lighting systems and ice machines that fill the giant space with smoke. Laser shows and video projection screens also contribute to the event’s magic.

In addition to the cavernous indoor space, Fabrik also features an outdoor terrace with a pool. There are three stages to accommodate the large numbers of dancers that travel to Humanes to enjoy the night, and the club’s estranged location actually means that the music can get even louder.

And even though the venue isn’t perfectly situated, the company organizes a bus to take you there and back. Fabrik offers bus rides to and from Plaza Espana so that it won’t be impossible for you to visit this amazing club in the Humanes de Madrid district.

While the club is huge, its influence doesn’t end at the metropolitan discoteca. In fact, Fabrik is part of Grupo Kapital, a collection of music associations in Madrid. Mondo Disko

Despite its modern environment, this club has actually been around since 1999. That’s many years of hosting good techno. With red lighting, two bars and one big stage, Mondo Disko is the perfect place to have fun with friends.

Mondo brings in a crowd of people from all around looking to enjoy the techno and the underground vibe. Moreover, the club always delivers impressive lineups to make for an amazing show.

While the general admission forms one long crowd in the center of the room, Mondo Disko offers a unique experience by setting up tables in the VIP sections on either side of the crowd. Here, you can enjoy the view with your friends and maybe order a bottle or two.

The tickets are reasonably priced and vary depending on how late you want to show up. Additionally, the purchase comes with one or two drinks, so the party starts as soon as you arrive.

Goya Social Club

For a casual spot to enjoy your evening, Goya is a small venue that attests to the Spanish underground scene. The social club fills the weekends with a variety of house and techno tunes.

Goya offers both a space for a chill evening and a crazy night out, depending on what you’re feeling. Accompanied by the Funktion One sound system, the club has the very same model used at Berghain in Berlin.

Brunch  -In The Park is an exciting music festival that takes place in the open air of Madrid. Here, you’ll find good people, good tunes, and good food and drinks. The Sunday event hosts well-known artists like The Black Madonna and Boris Brejcha. If you haven’t heard of Brejcha before, you at least recognize his performances. This high-tech minimal German DJ often wears a joker mask when playing music for his crowd.

A little known fact is that he suffered from burns at the Ramstein Air Disaster, and the isolation that his appearance forced him into is what got him into making music. Madrileños who go to this club say that it’s the best place in Madrid to listen to house music, and that the vibe is as nice as the tunes. Friendly people make you feel like you’re right at home while you enjoy the captivating techno.

BerlinClub is the perfect combination of a cozy atmosphere and an impressive sound system. And, like the city it’s named after, the club has hosted numerous credible artists, like Shanti Celeste and  Dan Shake.

Sala Riviera

This Madrid institution is a diverse club that accepts everyone, from the top electronic, house, and techno DJs in Europe to British indie bands. Bands usually perform at the concert venue/club early in the evening before club nights take over later and into the night.
