10 Things to Eat Near the Eiffel Tower

The majority of the restaurants surrounding the Eiffel Tower are traditional French bistros and brassieres; they know this is what the tourists want, and so this is what you’ll get.

Those of us who prefer more alternative foods when out and about have but a few options to choose from here in the 7th arrondissement. I’ve complied a ten part list that will save you time and energy when that sightseeing hunger sets in — let’s go!

1. Vietnamese Food: La Table du Vietnam in Paris

This charming little spot seems to be a hit or a miss depending on what day you walk in. I’ve never had a less that satisfying experience, and the simple menu is very well done in my opinion.

Come for traditional Vietnamese pho as your main, and dumplings as your starter. Prices aren’t cheap but keep in mind you’re practically dining under the Eiffel Tower, this is to be expected.

2. Gluten Free Bakery: La Belle Vie Sans Gluten in Paris

This wonderful little bakery is the blood, sweat and tears of baker Clementine Oliver. There is not a speck of gluten to be found within these walls, and her pastry creations will have you walking back over for another round to take home with you.

You can dine in if you like, but a lot of people take their treats to-go and move to the lawns of the Champ de Mars to enjoy them.

3. Japanese: Miyako in Paris

There are three Miyako branches around Paris, this one is very close to the Eiffel Tower, on the right hand side of the Champ de Mars.

It’s a cute spot for a sushi platter to share with a friend or lover. The staff are always so pleasant and gracious toward every person who comes through the doors. It’s a very different, home-like experience compared to the oftentimes cold demeanor of the French bistros in this area.

4. Curries: New Jawad in Paris

There are actually no vegan/vegetarian restaurants within close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. The best I could find is a lovely Pakistai restaurant with a very inclusive vegetarian menu, where most of the curries are unintentionally vegan.

Vegan or not, the curries at New Jawad will warm you from the belly up throughout the winter. Lovers of Pakistani meats will also find great enjoyment here.

5. Californian: Frame Brasserie in Paris

Moving over to the left side of the tower, this is a brasserie that is supposedly in line with Californian cuisine, whatever that might mean.

I suppose tacos, bagels, Eggs Benedict, English breakfasts, burgers and pancakes are all consumed in the far west. Technicalities aside, this is a wonderful brunch spot where breakfast foods are served all day long.

I suspect that Firmine is a French and Italian owned bistro, because the menu is the perfect balance of both cuisines.

You can eat escargot, salmon and all other French dishes while also having your pick of a wide variety of pizzas and pastas. The pizzas are phenomenal! Those saucy kind with just a few blobs of cheese and bubbling crust? You know the ones.

Samaya is actually another suitable option for anyone in need of vegan food near the Eiffel Tower. The dips, breads and salads at this Lebanese eatery are all meat and dairy free, and the do some great falafel as a main dish.

You’ll choose your main dishes, kebabs and sides from behind the counter. It’s a very informal setting and prices are incredibly low. This aside, it’s a delicious meal option and easy to take with you to picnic on the grass just underneath the tower not far away.

9. Ice Cream: Amorino in Paris

Amorino is a gelato shop you’ll find all over Paris, and the rest of Europe. They are the ice cream parlor that scoops their flavors into flower shapes in the cones.

There is an Amorino right by the Eiffel Tower, on the right side of the lawns. A great spot to grab a treat during an evening walk to see the Eiffel Tower light show. They usually have a handful of vegan options available as well.
