Prague is known for its beautiful architecture, bustling streets, historical squares, looming castle in the distance, and lots of beer. After a full day of tourist activities and seeing the latest and best attractions, what better way to end the night then not letting it end – and heading to one of Prague’s many techno clubs.
Despite New York City being the city that never sleeps, we think Prague would give the Big Apple a run for their money. The techno clubs here are legendary, with light shows, talented dancers, and a never-ending stream of alcohol. To help you navigate the party scene, we’ve rounded up the top techno clubs in Prague for an unforgettable night out.
1. Club Roxy
First up, we have Club Roxy. This venue is one of the city’s oldest and most well-known clubs, bringing in big-name DJ’s, blasting some bass-heavy music, and boasting a warehouse-vibe. The interior almost looks as if it is decaying, and the large dance floor and video projections displayed across the old walls continue the industrial feel.
Since opening in 1992 this club is consistently full every night, assuring you will always be able to party here until the early morning. If you want to check out a more relaxed atmosphere before you hit the club, you can hang out at the gallery or the theatre right above the club venue.
Situated in the heart of Prague, between Old Town and Petrska Ctvrt, this is an easy to get to spot that should be at the top of your list for your next night out.
2. Duplex
Second on this night-owl list, we bring you Duplex. This upscale and exclusive club is situated on the roof of Wenceslas Square, containing two platforms, four bars, and high-quality sound and lights cutting through the air in the venue. The staff is very professional, and will ensure good service and keep the fun atmosphere. For big-name artists, this venue is the place to be – Tiesto has played shows here, creating the ultimate techno party in Old Town Prague.
If you’re a student, you can get in for a cheaper price – which is true of most clubs in Prague. Just a little hint to keep in mind if you’re trying to stay in and study for a change. Once you get into the club, we hope you dressed the part. This isn’t a typical pub or bar around the city, where casual dress is the norm. No, people come here for extravagance, and you should try to dress the part.
The attention to high quality and detail is what makes this club stand out – the club is clean, the security guards are well-behaved and keep order, and the atmosphere is upscale and aesthetic. There is a patio outside for smoking if you need to catch some air, albeit smoky, to cool off from dancing. The polite and professional staff, amazing sound system, talented dancers, and dance/techno music makes this one of the best techno clubs in Prague.
3. Cross Club
For a more mainstream address, we have Cross Club. Not a traditional techno club, this spot has various music styles on different floors, with the downstairs providing a basement-like feel with a large dance floor, and the upstairs stage having extensive lighting and dance-vibes.
This venue is a multi-cultural center, which is world-renowned, due to its futuristic design and various cultures presented. The unique decor, variety of music, and sculpture designs in the place create a funky atmosphere that provides upbeat attitudes for your night out.
With live music and DJ’s every night of the week, you can be rest assured it will always be a party here. The diversity here, with artists from all over the world, as well as local artists, performing dubstep, techno, and hardcore, make this a great spot to do something different than the ‘normal’ techno club.
With the main stage being open until 7 am on Fridays and Saturdays (and 5 am on weekdays – yes, on work days), you’ll have plenty of time to listen to some hard beats, take over the dance floor, and dance the night away.
4. Ankali
Continuing this important list of the best techno clubs, Ankali makes the cut. This typically-packed club space plays contemporary electronic beats, featuring techno of course. This unique venue claims to be a ‘space for open-minded heads.’ And that it is.
Hidden away in Prague 10, a bit far from the city center (and tourists), this venue has a somewhat intimidating outer appearance. The remnants of a former factory, it gives a tough and industrial kind of vibe before you’ve even gotten into the club – making you feel as if you’re entering a different world.
Once inside, the laid-back atmosphere and almost dilapidated look gives a relaxed look, while the energy is anything but. People are buzzing around, the music is blasting, and techno is wafting through the sound system.
Friday and Saturday nights are best for the true techno-lovers, and since this is a bit far away and still relatively new on the scene, this is a great spot to get to hear the music before it gets too crowded.
5. 36 Underground
For a venue that hosts numerous underground techno parties, we recommend checking out 36 Underground. Located right in the center of the Vietnamese market in Prague 7, this ramshackle vibe is the perfect setting for a rave. Using what used to be an old meat factory, some remains of the building still remain, like pipes and gutters throughout the rooms.
The music policy depends on the specific night, but if you figure out when the underground techno parties are, we highly recommend venturing to Prague 7 for an unforgettable time.
6. Wildt
Last on our list, we have something a little different. Wildt is a venue that aims to support up-and-coming local DJs, no matter what style of music they specialize in. Some nights you could go here and find soul wafting through the air, and another night funk can be permeating the space.
If you find out which artist is playing on a certain night, you can catch a local playing his best techno. Come here in the summer and head outside to the terrace to catch a few beats in the warm air. This spot is quite new and still up-and-coming, just like the artists it supports. Try to check this spot out before it becomes too well known, while supporting some young and aspiring musicians.
7. Some lesser-known spots for an authentic experience
For these next few spots on the list, they may be lesser-known, but they’re truly for techno fans. For die-hard techno lovers, Pokojicek is a great choice. This spot is farther from the center of the city, making it a little less convenient for those on public transportation. You can still get here by taking the 17 tram to Belarie stop and head the rest on foot. If you decide to make the journey, you’ll be rewarded with high-quality electronic music performances. We’d recommend coming here for just the music – you won’t find much else in this area of the city, so you should plan on this being your last stop for the night.
Storm is a club which is slightly more commercial than the previous two, which makes it good for those newer to the techno-scene. The entry is cheap, the place gets crowded, and the people dance until the morning. The perfect trifecta for a successful night out.
8. Get ready to party
Prague is a city that knows how to party. From underground techno parties to abandoned factory settings, the unique and eclectic atmospheres that host techno music are what makes it so desirable.
Exploring the numerous rooms of old buildings, working your way through the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, the bass thumping through your body, and taking in the good vibes – this is what makes techno music so enjoyable.
You’re surrounded by glaring lights, the best sound systems around, and people that just want to have a good time. This city has everything from cultural centers that house techno music on certain nights, to full-on underground venues that specialize in house and techno music. Prague has something for everyone, and arguably has some of the best techno clubs in Europe.
9. Storm Club
Situated on Tachovské nám. 290, 130 00 Praha 3-Žižkov, Czechia. It is the best club in Prague that is focused on Drum & Bass music although they play different music genres too. It looks very good, security is on point and the charlady walks around the club to keep the club clean constantly.
But it’s not a club that you would just go to any day you feel like socializing. It’s a club for music enthusiasts that go for the music and sometimes they have famous people playing there.
10. Studio 54

Located at Hybernská 38, 110 00 Nové Město, Czechia, Studio 54 is a place where anyone cannot leave before the last tone drops! The club is perfect with good music, cool after houses with quality house and techno. Security is relaxed and friendly so people can get through the night.
DJs play really well and the atmosphere was also nice. Good choice for party dance in the morning. When it’s 04:00 am it’s time for after party and the club offers a great vibe and cheap drinks and the greatest music quality in town. There is also a fun crowd at this club.
Members can log into their accounts and view their balance for transaction purposes. This allows members to recharge their credit using a credit card online.

It is located at Bělehradská 234/120, 120 00 Vinohrady, Czechia. It is a good place but they only take cash not any other way of payment.
13. Ace Club

Melantrichova 5, 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia is where Ace club is located with a decent crowd usually on Saturday night. Everyone is searched at the door. It is interesting that the bartender makes great cocktails and they have delicious drinks.
They open 7 days a week and operate all night. The best RnB hits all night long. The club is home to DJ Koogle, DJ Maztah, DJ Australian, LuMichell, and Battle Lady. More importantly, they offer the best music vibes with unique DJs.
14. Charlie’s Pole Bar
The club is located at Zlatý Strom, Karlova 187/6, 110 00 Staré Město.
It had great hits and was an attraction to many young people. It is known as a hidden jewel in Zlaty Storm Prague. Visitors at Charlie’s Pole Bar are usually young people. The girls here are amazing!
The club is located at Karlova 6, Old Town, Prague 1. Zlaty Strom is an underground bar and music club located near Charles Bridge, on the pedestrian street Karlova which leads to Old Town Square.
Zlaty Strom is a warren of bars and lounges spread over many levels. There is also a pole dancing bar and, at the lowest level, a lively dancefloor.
Zlaty Strom is simply a fun place for everyone and sums up perfectly the ‘let it live’ attitude of Prague.
In the lounges and chill-out areas, groups of 20-something Czechs hang out with friends, and groups of tourists share drinks with old and newfound friends.
Meanwhile, Czech teens and international visitors of all ages head for the subterranean dance floor, where the tunes are generally 80s/90s/00s/10s/20s dance and classic party music, mixed together in a blur.
In the pole dancing bar, an all-night girl show takes place, which naturally proves popular with stag parties. But as Zlaty Strom is merely a bar, it is all very relaxed; the topless dancers’ can be enjoyed just for the price of a drink.
Zlaty Strom throws up a curious mix of styles and people of various age groups, but somehow it works. It is certainly worth dropping in for a few drinks as you make your way around Prague.
The special drink to try is the 8-man Mojito, a huge glass of this favorite cocktail with eight straws.
