Virginia Beach National Golf Club

Nestled in a setting of matured hardwood forests and Rolling Meadows, this golf course was designed for tournament play. Virginia Beach National has hosted the best players in the world with a Nationwide Tour even in the past years. The golf course has scenic waste areas, rolling fairways, and terrific conditions that offer challenges from every tee box. Designed with help from Curtis Strange the greens are tour quality, and the course layout does not have a lot of elevation change but plenty of hazards to navigate. Virginia Beach National opened in May 1999 to be acclaimed as the premier public golf club in the Tidewater Area.  Originally the TPC Virginia Beach the course was designed by Pete Dye with PGA Tour player Curtis Strange acting as Players Consultant.  The result is a Par 72, championship-length course that blends natural grasses, waste areas, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, wide rolling fairways and tour-quality greens to create a masterful golf course.

Designed by Rees Jones, the 6075-yard tract has been one of the premier clubs in the Virginia Beach area because of the plush playing conditions and outstanding layout. YMCA Golf Course (First Tee — Hampton Roads)

Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club operates as a sports club. The Company offers a golf course, tennis courts, clubhouse, wedding, and private events services. Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club serves customers in the State of Virginia. An arrangement was secured with the owners of the Cavalier Hotel (built-in 1927) to facilitate the recreational needs of hotel guests. Upon Mr. Crane’s untimely and tragic death in 1938 while duck hunting on the James River the golf course was purchased from his estate by the Cavalier Hotel and was thereafter known as Cavalier Country Club. The owner of the hotel, Mr. Sidney Banks (not related to the course architect) was a very positive force in the growth and improvements to the Club, its amenities and the neighborhood in general. On March 22, 1947, the Club’s manager announced that the facilities at Birdneck Point would now be known as the Cavalier Yacht and Country Club, a private, non-profit club for the exclusive use of the Members and their guests and would be directed by officers and a board of directors.
