In this article, you’ll discover the best places to ride your bike in Prague.

Vysehrad to Cernosice/Vsenory

This cycling route is 24-27 km, completely flat, great for families, and wholly off-road, so you don’t need to worry about car traffic. The cycling route starts from Vysehrad, following the sign for route A2, as it heeds the course of the river upstream.

Trucks and cars drive past you at speed overhead, but there is a unique bridge for cyclists suspended under the motorway deck; this allows pedal-powered traffic to cross the joining of the Vltava and Berounka rivers safely. You will enter the village below the level crossing, where a Cukrarna place faces you invitingly. This is a perfect spot for a well-earned chlebicek, ice cream and slice of cake.

At that point, you can decide to hop the train and return to Prague or continue along the cycle path, route 3, along the tracks to the next village. Take care as you enter Dolni Mokropsy as the route is on the road; follow route 3, which will take you to a picturesque iron railway bridge overhead a weir on the Berounka river, which is a favorite swimming spot and a perfect end to the trip. To return to Prague, follow route A3 for 1.5 km until you reach the Vsenory train station.
