What's in our tour?

This Gaudi walking tour explores the work of the magical architect who single-handedly made Barcelona so unique – Antoni Gaudi, in the early 1900’s. It is our introduction to Barcelona.

The tour starts at “the apple of discord” – the famous corner where 3 houses compete as Barcelona’s greatest work. So which is best? You will have your own opinion, to be sure.

We explore “Passeig de Gracia,” where modern-day Barcelona first started, and we explore Eixample – the template district for the rest of our city – and we explore Gaudi’s main constructions – Casa Batlló, Casa Milà etc.

We also discuss the human stories behind each of these buildings – who commissioned each of these works and why, and what it’s like to live in these buildings. We discuss what Gaudi was trying to do – his “catalanity” philosophy.

To get to our finale, we ride the metro together – you get to try out our dependable, comfortable underground transportation system.

Our finale is Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece and Barcelona’s main landmark, Sagrada Famila basilica.

Highlights

  • Gaudi’s La Pedrera – extravagant architecture for extravagant residents
  • Trencadis: the mosaic Gaudi invented to transform the face of Barcelona
  • ‘The world’s greatest house’ – ego, architecture and Star Wars
  • ‘The Tapies foundation – a museum, and the world’s craziest roof-top
  • Sagrada Familia – Gaudi’s ultimate, unfinished masterpiece
  • Also included: a joyful metro ride

Where and when?

Our Barcelona Gaudi tour starts on time every day at 10.30am rain or shine and last a leisurely 90 minutes.

We meet outside Metro station Passeig de Gràcia (line 3 & 4), in front of Casa Batlló.

Why take this tour?

Because Gaudi IS Barcelona, this is the Barcelona walking tour to start with. And we make sure to give you more than most guides for it.

Because our city guides are natives, we also have you experience what Gaudi means to Barcelona today – who lives there, what it’s like to live around and inside his buildings, and the gossip and the stories behind it all.
