“The People We Hate at the Wedding” introduces us to a new genre of movie, “The Raunch-Com”! And I for one am a huge fan. Not just because it stars Allison Janney, Kristen Bell and Ben Platt but because it is so over-the-top funny, raunchy (delightful use of the F-bomb and adult scenes) and poignant at the same time. These 3 totally nail the characters they create! The supporting cast, led by Karan Soni, Cyntia Addai-Robinson and Dustin Milligan among many others, delivers a wonderful 5-star experience.
Is this Oscar-worthy? Oh so not, but if you want to feel good and escape for 1 hour 39 minutes, just go for it! Respectfully submitted, your erstwhile movie critic.
