Best Rooftop Bars in Prague
Prague has one of the most beautiful skylines in Europe. Getting above the rooftops as often as possible is highly recommended, and there are many places to both eat and drink at rooftop venues.
The following few rooftop bars are my personally recommended ones. Unfortunately, all of Prague’s rooftops are tourist traps, knowing that panoramic views bring both people and money. They aren’t going to be your most affordable nights out in the Czech capital, but they will be your most memorable.
Balcony Bar in Prague
I would consider the Balcony Bar to be the bets rooftop bar in all of Prague (subjectively, of course).
The view isn’t necessarily the best of them all, but combined with ambiance, service and entertainment, it’s a highly enjoyable experience almost every night of the week.

The Balcony Bar is in the very heart of the city. Můstek is known for being a neighborhood of great museums, fantastic food and festivities until the early hours of the morning.
Balcony Bar is particularly great for anyone who enjoys a well made cocktail. Note that they will add a 10% service charge to all bills, this is standard. Prices are steep, you’ve been warned.

Terasa U Zlaté studně in Prague
Terasa U Zlaté studně is on the left bank of Prague, right across from Old Town. This rooftop overlooks the whole of Old Town, and it’s incredibly beautiful.
This is actually a fine dining rooftop restaurant, but the terrace is open for drinks on nights when they are not fully booked. You’ll be seated at a table and served by a waiter. Since they close up at 11pm, a lot of people start their evenings here before moving on to bars that are open later.

It’s incredibly expensive and up market; you’ll need to be dressed appropriately to enjoy your drinks on this rooftop. No shorts, sports clothing or flip flops.

Cloud 9 Sky Bar & Lounge in Prague
Cloud 9 Sky Bar is in Florenc and is another spot with breathtaking views over the Prague skyline.
This bar is completely indoors, with floor to ceiling glass making up the entire perimeter. Book in advance if you can and request tables against the windows for the best view.

This is a cocktail specialty bar, but there is a small international menu with light eats and fantastic desserts. The music is usually always good and you’ll find you enjoy arriving early and staying late; there is little reason to move to another bar mid-evening.
You’ll also be right on the bank of the Vltava, so a stroll home on the river is an option.

Duplex in Prague
Duplex is one of the most popular rooftop venues in Prague. It is frequented by both locals and tourists, and is a melting pot for people from all over the world.
This is a high end club and restaurant, with an outdoor terrace that overlooks the city.

The restaurant is popular by day and early evening, the club takes over as the night gets older and is open through until 5am. This is one of few dance venues open at this time in the city.
If you only have a few days in Prague, then do both the restaurant and the bar as a night out. Book for dinner around 9pm and stay until you’re tired of being on the dance floor.

Coda in Prague
Coda is another beautiful rooftop that is actually a restaurant but has a beautiful terrace that are great for starting one’s evening of drinking.
You will have to book for this spot, and specifically mention the terrace if this is where you’d like to be on the roof. The view is breathtaking, and the ambiance is very calm and intimate; great for a drink or two over good conversation before the evening ensues (or you simply retreat to bed).

Coda is situated on the left bank in Malá Strana; this is a historic part of Prague with a lot of monuments and points of interest.

Zlatá Praha in Prague
Zlatá Praha is something out of a fairytale. This is the most whimsical space that has been very well curated to compliment the panoramic view over the ancient rooftops of Prague.
There is an indoor and outdoor section, and in the summer you’ll have to book if you want a table on the terrace. I even brave the cold in the winter and opt to sit out here, it’s out of worldly, and they will supply blankets and heaters to make you more comfortable while you sip your drinks.

Zlatá Praha is right in the heart of Old Town. The river and the left bank are in view, as well as the lunch green Letna Park just across the canal.
Book for dinner, stay for drinks. The space is open until midnight, daily.
